1964 Volvo P1800
600,000+ miles
Upgraded to 2000 cc in 1981
4 cylinder, dual SU carburetors

4 speed plus overdrive

Driven daily from 1967 to 1998
Driven as a 2nd car 1998-2010

The Volvo was purchased in 1966 by my brother Lanny Jacobs.  I helped him buy it and we had memorable trips in it.  Lanny died in June 1967 of colitis, a tragic loss of a wonderful person.  I have driven the car ever since (43 years) and will never sell it.

Summer 2002 I did a valve job, lapped them in by hand and installed a thinner head gasket, has quite a bit more zoom now.

August 2005 updated suspension, brakes heater fan, most mechanical items.  Work done by Garry Small Saab, he rebuilt the engine in 1981.  Moved to Baker City, Oregon and drive it as a primary car most of the time except for the winter snow season.

2010 Installed a new radio and with connections for MP3, SD card and thumb drive. 4 new speakers. Nice.  The P1800 is still running strong, becoming an antique and draws a lot of attention.
