April 5th, 1999 PAAM General meeting
Twenty members were in attendance for the meeting at Langdon Farms .
The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Brockway, President at 7:20 PM
After a general welcome and a short introduction by Elizabeth introduced Ann Crook of Oregon Aeronautics. Ann distributed suggested flight patterns to address noise sensitivity areas. The intent is to aggressively work to help the situation. Discussion concerning shifting to 17 right traffic pattern just shifts the noise to another sensitivity area. Ann ask for committee participation to help address the issue
Bruce Bennett reported that we now have over 100 due paying members. Each member is encouraged to encourage another stakeholder to join with us. Applications are available on the web site.
Ted Millar, Treasurer, did not have current balance available from the accountant.
Legislative Activity
Another meeting is scheduled for May. Charbonneau people seem to want to work with us
The LOC approach change came out this week. It includes another step down at 1.9 miles from the end of the runway. This keeps traffic about 500 feet higher for the preceding 3 miles.
Joel Scoggins of Columbia Helicopter discussed their actions to clean up the ground water and reduce the production of hazardous materials. The activity is continuing and they are responding to all DEQ suggestions.
Elizabeth called for volunteers to help with Aurora Colony Days and the UAO participation
A suggestion was made that we look for alternatives for notification of meetings.
