Aurora City Council "Aurora Airport Workshop" 3/16/99

The Aurora City Council, chaired by mayor Loretta Scott, met in a special session on 3/16/99 to review inputs on the airport. 

Mayor Scott reviewed the history of the airport and commented that the AMPAC master plan is currently on hold.  She stated that the Aurora Comprehensive plan and the airport growth may be in conflict with each other. 

The opinions of PAAM, CRAAD and local citizens were presented.  The number one issue is noise.  However, CRAAD and others spent a lot of time focusing on environmental issues such as fuel spills, water and septic systems and aviation fuel impacts.  Although there is still much misinformation being offered, the meeting moved the divergent groups closer to addressing the issues.
